• SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION 2024-2025:

    THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF BUFFALO SCHOLARSHIP: The Junior League of Buffalo will be awarding three $2,000 scholarships to graduating female seniors who have demonstrated a strong commitment to community service and volunteerism in the Western New York Community.  The scholarships are given to the post-high school institution to assist the student in defraying expenses for tuition, books, fees, or housing.  The scholarships are awarded based on evidence of demonstrated community service and volunteerism within their school and community.  Additionally, the student’s background should show strong evidence of being well-rounded in personal and academic endeavors.     WESTERN NEW YORK SAFETY CONFERENCE, INC. SCHOLARSHIP: The Board of the Western New York Safety Conference is offering Educational Achievement Award Scholarships of $1,500 to qualified high school students.  Qualified applicants are required to be: High school seniors attending college (2- or 4-year programs) in the fall of 2025, and Western New York residents (Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Genesee, Allegany, Livingston, Monroe, Orleans, and Wyoming counties).  Applications can be picked up in the Student Services Office.  Deadline: March 10, 2025.

    THE HAGAN SCHOLARSHIP:  The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. The Hagan Scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters, workshops to learn important life skills not typically covered in the college curriculum, funds to purchase college essentials, an HSF Schwab Brokerage Account to manage, funds to study and travel abroad, and the opportunity to extend the Hagan Scholarship to obtain a graduate or professional degree.  Visit https://haganscholarships.org/# for more information.  Deadline: March 15, 2025.

    EIGHTH DISTRICT FEDERATED GARDEN CLUBS OF NEW YORK STATE SCHOLARSHIPEighth District Federated Garden Clubs of New York State will award a $1,500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior residing in one of the following Western New York counties:  Alleghany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, or Niagara.  Applicants must be planning to major in one of the following areas of study:  Agriculture, Botany, Conservation, Environmental Science, Forestry, Horticulture, Land Management, Landscape Design, Wildlife Science, or a field related to the above.  Visit  https://www.gardenclubsofwny.com/1000-college-scholarship for more information and an application.

    BANK ON BUFFALO SCHOLARSHIP: BankOnBuffalo is committed to the communities and businesses they serve and proud to support the next generation of business leaders.  They invite eligible students to enhance their education by participating in their annual scholarship contest.  Funding is available for up to 5 scholarships, $1,000 each, to be used for continuing education in a business-related field.  High school seniors with intentions to further their education at a college or university with a business-related degree are eligible to apply.   Applications can be picked up in the Student Services Office.     HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELORS’ ASSOCIATION OF WESTERN NEW YORK SCHOLARSHIP: The High School Counselors’ Association of Western New York provides an annual scholarship award to a local high school senior who meets the following requirements: be a graduating high school senior, plan to attend a 4-year college or university in New York State, plan to major in social work, psychology, or counseling related field, have a grade point average of 85 or above, and take part in extracurricular activities; school and/or community service.  Financial need may be considered.     ZONTA CHEEKTOWAGA-LANCASTER FOUNDATION HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR GIRLS EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR COMMITMENT TO VOLUNTEERISM & COMMUNITY SERVICE:: This $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to a young woman who has demonstrated that she understands the value of volunteerism as well as their personal commitment to community service. Applicants must attend a school in Cheektowaga, Depew, Lancaster, or Sloan School Districts. The club is awarding two $12,500 scholarships this year: One to a student whose GPA is between 80-89 and one that is a 90 or better.     EMPIRE STATE POTATO GROWERS INC. SCHOLARSHIP: The Empire State Potato Growers Inc annually awards a scholarship for undergraduate students, residing in New York State, pursuing college studies benefiting the agricultural industry.  It will be provided at the rate of $500 per academic year, for up to 4 consecutive years of undergraduate education.  Full-time academic study in the field of agriculture must be pursued.  Selection will be based on the following criteria: Agricultural-related areas of undergraduate study (i.e. Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Crop & Soil Sciences, Entomology, Food Sciences, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Agricultural Economics), academic achievement, leadership abilities, and NYS residency.     SOUTHWESTERN ASSOCIATION OF VOLUNTEER FIREMEN (SWAVF) SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: The Southwestern Association of Volunteer Firemen of the State of New York (SWAVF) and its Ladies Auxiliary are pleased to announce its community service scholarship program for 2025.  This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who will graduate in 2025, and will be enrolling for full-time study at an accredited institution of post-secondary study in the fall of 2025.  Applicants must be either a member, junior member, ladies auxiliary member, or Fire Explorer of a SWAVF member fire department or company OR be the child or grandchild of an active member, ladies auxiliary member, or exempt member of a SWAVF member fire department or company OR be the child or grandchild of an officer, past officer, committee member, life member, or annually registered member of the SWAVF or SWAVF Ladies' Auxiliary.  This year there will be one Southwestern Firemen's Scholarship awarded in the amount of $800 and three SWAVF Ladies Auxiliary Scholarships awarded for $150 each.  The three Auxiliary Scholarships will be awarded to the top applicant from each county not represented by the SWAVF Firemen's Scholarship winner.  Application forms are available at www.SWAVF.comDeadline: April 15, 2025.

    STUDENT-VIEW SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: The 2025 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $14,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school.  The program includes; One $10,000 scholarship, Two $1,000 scholarships, and Three $500 scholarships.  No minimum SAT/ACT score or grade point average, No essay required, No lengthy application forms, No application fees.  Simply log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in  your area.  The scholarship will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications.  The scholarship winner will be announced in May 2025.     COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR GREATER BUFFALO SCHOLARSHIP:  Since 1924, the Community Federation for Greater Buffalo has been awarding scholarships to students from Western New York.  Since 2000, they have awarded over $41 million in scholarships to thousands of local college students.  To take advantage of these scholarships you must be a permanent resident in one of the eight counties of WNY (Allegany, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming); have a GPA of at least 2.0, and be accepted to an accredited non-profit college or university in the United States for full-time study at the undergraduate level.  A strong preference will be given to students who are Pell eligible and attending school in one of the eight counties of Western New York (WNY).  Scholarship applications are available now at www.cfgbscholarships.orgDeadline: May 1, 2025.  

    ERIE COUNTY COMMITTEE OF THE AMERICAN LEGION SCHOLARSHIP:  This year the Erie County Convention of the American Legion will be at the David McKeever Post 64, , located at 1170 South Park Ave., Buffalo, NY 14220 on June 7, 2025. It is known at this time that there will be at least four (4) awards presented with a value of five hundred dollars ($500) each with a possibility of a few more scholarships. Scholarship awards are based on monetary need, scholastic ability, realistic goals, extra-curricular activities, and community involvement.    Applications can be picked up in the Student Services office.         Deadline: May 2, 2025.     

    PAST NATIONAL COMMANDER MICHAEL J. KOGUTEK AMERICAN LEGION SCHOLARSHIP:  The Past National Commander Michael J. Kogutek American Legion Scholarship Trust will award two $1,500 scholarships to students/veterans attending college in 2025.  This scholarship is intended to assist New York State Veterans, their families, and patriotic students who share the ideals of the American Legion. The scholarship will be awarded based on veteran status (including family members), financial need, scholastic ability, realistic goals, extra-curricular activities and community involvement.  All students must show proof that they have been accepted at an accredited college or university prior to receiving the scholarship.  An application can be picked up in the Student Services Office.  Deadline: May 2, 2025.

    SCALP & BLADE SCHOLARSHIP: The Scalp & Blade Fraternity awards two (2) scholarships annually.  $2,500 per year, renewable for a total of 4 years.  A total of $10,000 will be awarded provided the recipient(s) maintains satisfactory grades and is considered a full-time student.  A senior male of the current graduating class of any public high school in Erie County in the State of New York may be nominated by his high school principal or guidance counselor.  (1) nominee from each high school will be considered.  Each candidate must demonstrate outstanding academic accomplishment in terms of grades and college entrance exams, extracurricular activities, community involvement as well as financial need.  An application can be picked up in the Student Services Office.  Completed applications must be turned in to Mrs. O’Connor in the Student Services office on or before May 5, 2025.  Deadline: May 5, 2025.

    NYS SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATHEMATICS (STEM) INCENTIVE PROGRAM:  The NYS STEM Incentive Program provides tuition awards to students who are New York State residents attending a public degree-granting college or university located in New York State. Recipients must be in the top 10 percent of students of their high school graduating class, pursue an approved, two or four-year STEM degree program and agree to live in NYS and work in a STEM field in NYS for five years after graduation.  Click here for more information.
