Music Is Alive!

  • Dear Parents/Guardians,

We have reevaluated our approach to remote learning from last spring and we have collaborated upon a fun and engaging music program for the 2020-2021 school year. Safety is our top priority in the upcoming school year while we nurture social/emotional connections and maintain our high standards for music education. We will be basing all changes to music classes and performing ensembles on current NYS health guidelines. As professionals, we are keeping ourselves current on new research as it becomes available from music associations. We have all read the latest information from music organizations like NAfME and NYSSMA in order to provide your student(s) with the safest education possible.

Here is what to expect in an in-person or hybrid band or chorus class:

    Reduced class sizes

    12 ft social distancing

    PPE requirements (Masks and/or gloves)

    Digitized music

Digital and in-person small group lessons

    Proper instrument sanitization

    Regular parent and student communication

Instrument rentals will continue as they have in the past (see link below)

We are excited to redesign our music program this year and eagerly look forward to your active participation with us!
