    The boys team won a hard fought match over Depew by the score of 6 to 1. The "A' team took 2 out of 3 points to lead the way. Dominik Pulkownik lead the way with a 632 set and a 247 high game. Derek Mergenhagen chipped in with a 214, Zac Holdren added a 189, Colin Sheridan a 187, Collin Cooper a 186, Jayson Hanson a 147 and Ryan Razz a 144 to pace the "A" team. The "B" team swept all 3 points and was lead by 7th grader Jeoff Gioia's 572 set with a 201 high game. Nate Pocobello added a 199, Joe Pham a 196 and Steve Fuzer & Evan Lenhard a 181 to pace the boys team who host Cleve Hill today at Airport.

    Girls Bowling

    The girls bowling team upped their record to 3 & 1 by knocking off previously unbeaten Depew 5 to 2. The "A" team took 2 out of 3 points and was lead by Emily Crone's 610 set with a 223 high game. Emma Rome chipped in with a 536 set and 193 high game, Paige Onisk added a 189 and Caitlin Kirst a 171. The "B" team also took 2 out of 3 points and was lead by Karissa LeRoy's 410 set with a 164 high game. Sarah Hencinski added a 156, Grace Taton a 142, Jamie Millace a 119 and Alyssa Chorazak a 107 for the girls who host Cleve Hill today at Airport lanes.

    Boys Track and Field

    Andrew Reichert – broke the school record in the 60 M Hurdles posting a time of 8.67 in the finals and finished 6th place overall out of 32 athletes. Andrew also placed 6th place out of 15 in the PV clearing 12’ 6”
    Seth Fonda – broke the school record in the 800 M – running a time of 2:08.8 and finished 16th out of 44 athletes.
    Seth Conner – took 7th place overall in the 400 M running a 52.01 out of 49 athletes
    CJ Krzanowicz – posted a PB and just missed breaking the SR in the 60 M – running a 7.58 (the record is 7.53) – {CJ is only an 8th grader}
    The 4 x 200 Relay of CJ Krzanowicz, Andrew Reichert, Lamar Reeves and Alek Bryant hit a season best time of 1:37.6
    The 4 x 400 relay of Robert Bragg, Seth Fonda, Noah Williams and Seth Conner also hit a season best time of 3:37.7 placing them in the #1 spot in section 6 for the event

    The teams will be back at it again this weekend as the 9th and 10th graders will head to Houghton College Friday night (start time is 5:00 pm) for the 9/10 Championships and the others will be heading to SUNY Brockport on Saturday for the Trent Jackson Invite – (start time is 10:00 am)

    Girls Track & Field

    This past weekend some of the Cheektowaga Central athletes traveled the brutal cold temps to Penn State University for the annual Kevin Dare HS Indoor Track & Field Invite. The trip was successful as they boys and girls combined for 4 school records broken and a number of personal best as well. Here are some of the highlights:
    Ally Alvira - broke the school record in the triple jump hitting a 35’ 8.25” and finishing in 7th place overall out of 41 athletes as well as hitting her PB in the LJ 15’ 9” and finishing 16th out of 48
    Jayla Moss – broke the school record in the 60 M dash (8.00) and made it to the finals – finishing in 6th place overall out of 64 athletes
    Torrie Jenkins – finished 14th overall in the TJ (33’ 2”) out of 41 athletes
    Brooklyn Lawrence – established the girls 400 M record – posting a time of 1:06.1
    The 4 x 200 relay of Brooklyn Lawrence, Torrie Jenkins, Siara Romanczyk and Jayla Moss ran a season best time of 1:53.07

    Varsity Wrestling

    The Wrestling team finished in 24th place Saturday at the NFWOA tournament. Austin Sliwinski went 4-1 with 3 pins placing 5th and Kiar Parker went 3-2 with 3 pins placing 7th. Taher Ahmed had a solid tournament going 4-1 with 3 pins with one pin in 20 seconds. The Warriors will head to Springville on Wednesday and then the Falconer tournament Friday and Saturday.
