Vietnam Memorial Project

Students in Ms. Stroud, Mrs. Stark and Mrs. Orlowski’s classes combined efforts to recognize over 50 WNY Vietnam War Soldiers who were KIA during the Vietnam War and are now forever enshrined on the Vietnam Wall in Washington, DC.

The students from Union East painted tiles and Honors middle school students researched the lives and developed projects. All tiles and projects were recently brought on the 8th Grade DC trip, where students located the names of the soldiers on the Vietnam Wall and placed the tiles/projects under their names for visitors who visited the Wall that day to see.

This Memorial Project started over seven years ago to honor local soldiers in the Wall.
