Stephanie Anderson named Assistant Principal at Union East Elementary School
The Cheektowaga Central School District named Stephanie Anderson to the position of Union East Elementary School assistant principal. Her appointment was approved by the Cheektowaga Board of Education on October 12, 2021. Anderson left her previous position within the special education department at Lancaster Central School District to join the Cheektowaga Central School District on November 15, 2021.
Anderson comes to Cheektowaga with over 18 years of experience teaching with a focus on special education, student supports, behavior and crisis management, curriculum development, teacher mentoring and supervision. She has had the opportunity to work in both urban and suburban districts throughout her tenure. In her previous role she was a CSE chairperson for both the elementary and middle school, a Growth Mindset SEL instructor and the lead Non-Violent Crisis Prevention instructor/trainer.
Anderson earned a Bachelor's Degree from Niagara University in general education birth-6 and special education preK-12; and Master's Degrees from Niagara University in Literacy, as well as, Educational Leadership and Supervision. She holds certifications in special education, general education (birth-6), Literacy instruction, School Building Leadership and School District Leadership.
At Union East Elementary School, Anderson will be assisting with the day-to-day building administration and the safety and welfare of the students, staff, volunteers and activities. She will help effectively lead our staff in the implementation of quality instruction and help to ensure a safe, pleasant, and effective educational atmosphere.
When looking at administrative positions, Anderson knew she wanted to work in a district that evidenced a strong sense of community and partnership and one that aims to educate the whole child and Cheektowaga Central checked those boxes for her. Anderson is looking forward to continuing the traditions set forth through Project Positive and helping our students to live their lives the Warrior Way.
