At Union East, we are creating students who love to read. Mariam, a first-grader, was the grand prize winner of the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library Kids’ 2021 Online Winter Reading Contest. She won a Kindle Fire HD 10 with a purple kid-proof case. Her home library is the Anna Reinstein Memorial Library in Cheektowaga. She loved all the books she read this winter, especially those by Dr. Seuss.
