Joshua Strzelec Named High School Assistant Principal

The Cheektowaga Central School District (CSD) named Joshua Strzelec to the position of High School Assistant Principal, effective Jan. 3. Strzelec will focus on supporting the High School Principal, performing school site activities and representing the school within the district and community.

Strzelec comes to Cheektowaga CSD from the Clarence Central School District, where he served as the assistant principal for the Middle School. For the first six years of his career in education, Strzelec taught middle/high school math in the Pembroke Central School District, coached multiple sports and instructed driver education. His decision to become an administrator came from a strong desire to help others achieve more than they realize they’re capable of.

He earned a Bachelor's degree from the University at Buffalo in mathematics and then went on to receive a dual Master's degree in mathematics education and educational administration. In addition to his teaching and administrative certifications, Strzelec holds New York State school building and school district leader certifications, as well as math 5-12 certification.

Outside of work, Strzelec and his wife focus most of their time on their three children and aspires visit every MLB park.

When asked, Strzelec said “I feel extremely fortunate to be joining the dynamic administrative team and passionate group of educators that make up the Cheektowaga CSD. As a 2009 graduate, I can’t wait to rejoin the CCHS family and begin building relationships with the students, staff, and community. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to return to the district and look forward to supporting the students and staff in every way possible.”
